The tripod is an outdated relic from the era of bare-root plantings. Good nursery stock doesn't need a crutch that hinders healthy growth by holding it above ground. It is now only suitable for concealing poor root ball development. Furthermore, the tripod solution is an eyesore.

Over the years, the city of Freiburg has secured 6.350 new plantings with arbofix 2.0, saving more than €245.000 in working hours compared to the tripod system.
